The termcardiology” is derived from the Greek words “cardia” (heart) and “logy” (study of). Cardiology deals with disorders that affect the heart and even other parts of the circulatory system. This field includes the diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, heart failure, valvular heart disease, coronary artery disease and electrophysiology. These and many other cardiac diseases are managed and treated by the best cardiologists

Sarvodya Hospital is one of the Best Heart Hospitals in Jalandhar, performing a multitude of treatments and procedures in cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery. Our team of experienced and dedicated cardiologists are trained from the top institutes in India and are completely dedicated to the treatment of coronary heart diseases. we have the best heart surgeons who perform highly specialized procedures to correct heart problems.

Our pioneering work for the prevention and treatment of cardiac diseases has led to the achievement of better outcomes and improved quality of life of cardiac patients who visit us each year with complex heart problems. Third generation Cath Labs, Cardiac Critical Care Units and Intensive Care Units support our experienced cardiologists and post-operative care teams.

We create dedicated individual cardiac care programs for our patients which enables seamless transition from consultation to treatment and recovery. For more severe cases like end-stage heart failure, we also offer alternative treatment options with procedures that include, ACD, CRT, Pacemakers, Pediatric Cardiac Surgery, Angioplasty/Angiography, and Heart Hole surgeries (ASD, VSD, PDA).

Some of the best cardiology doctors have been a part of the Centre since its inception and duly conduct the affairs of this unique facility around the clock. Our hospital is equipped with independent state-of-the-art Cath Labs, and operating theatres, among other heart care technologies.

Young Indians need to be more careful than their global peers too as heart diseases tend to strike Indians at a much earlier age than others, and often without prior warning. Taking care of your heart has never been more important than it is today.

  • Primary Angioplasty:- There are different ways to combine angioplasty and thrombolysis to treat acute MI. Primary angioplasty is a special case of immediate or direct angioplasty to restore blood flow to a blocked artery. Angioplasty can also be performed after thrombolytic therapy, either immediately (as soon as possible), a procedure called facilitated angioplasty, or a bit later in the post-MI period.
  • Coronary artery intervention – Balloon angioplasty, Stenting:- Coronary angioplasty (AN-jee-o-plas-tee), also called percutaneous coronary intervention, is a procedure used to open clogged heart arteries. Angioplasty uses a tiny balloon catheter that is inserted in a blocked blood vessel to help widen it and improve blood flow to the heart. Angioplasty is often combined with the placement of a small wire mesh tube called a stent. The stent helps prop the artery open, decreasing its chance of narrowing again.
  • LMCA and Bifurcation lesion:- The coronary arterial tree has a pseudofractal geometry.Blood flow is slow with less endothelial shear stress along the lateral walls of main vessel (MV) and side branch (SB), whereas at carina, the shear stress is high (►Fig. 1).That is the reason why atheromatous plaque develops morefrequently opposite to carina but not at carina. We can calculate the wall shear stress (WSS), WSS gradient and turbulent index in bifurcation lesions with fluid dynamic mechanism.
  • Permanent/Temporary pacemaker implantation:- Temporary cardiac pacing is commonly used in patients with life-threatening bradycardia and serves as a bridge to implantation of a permanent pacemaker (PPM). For years, passive fixation leads have been used for this purpose, offering the advantage of that they can be placed at bedside.
  • Device closure – ASD, PDA, RSOV and VSD:- In the past, atrial septal defect (ASD) closure required open-heart surgery through an incision in the chest using a heart-lung bypass machine. A ventricular septal defect (VSD) is a hole between the right and left pumping chambers of the heart. Patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) is a congenital heart defect – a structural heart problem that is present at birth. (RSOV) is an uncommon condition with a wide spectrum of presentation, ranging from an asymptomatic murmur to cardiogenic shock or even sudden cardiac death.
  • Percutaneous balloon mitral valvotomy:- Percutaneous balloon mitral valvotomy is a technique that allows relief of mitral stenosis without thoracotomy. Commissurotomy of the mitral valve with proper sized balloons that are placed antegrade by means of a transseptal catheterization results in good immediate and midterm results in most patients. Younger patients with echocardiographic scores of 8 or lower and who are without atrial fibrillation, mitral regurgitation or valvular calcification, and histories of surgical.
  • Renal stenting:- Renal artery stenting is a procedure to open the renal arteries – the large blood vessels that carry blood to the kidneys – when they have become blocked due to renal artery stenosis (narrowing of the renal artery). This is most often caused by atherosclerosis or fibrous disease of the arteries. When a renal artery is clogged, blood flow to the kidneys is affected.
  • Peripheral stenting:- Peripheral stents are small tubular metal scaffolds that can be inserted in the peripheral vessels to treat narrowing or blockage within arteries or veins, resulting in improved blood flow. Stents are often composed of a nitinol base and may be plain, drug-coated, or covered with a prosthetic material. In most cases, a balloon (angioplasty) is used first to flatten the blockage against the walls of the vessel so the stent can open up better. You will be given a medicine to help you relax during the procedure.
  • Carotid stenting:- Carotid angioplasty (kuh-ROT-id AN-jee-o-plas-tee) and stenting are procedures that open clogged arteries to restore blood flow to the brain. They’re often performed to treat or prevent strokes. The carotid arteries are located on each side of your neck. These are the main arteries supplying blood to your brain. They can be clogged with fatty deposits (plaque) that slow or block blood flow to the brain — a condition known as carotid artery disease — which can lead to a stroke.
  • IVC filter:- An inferior vena cava (IVC) filter is a small device that can stop blood clots from going up into the lungs. The inferior vena cava is a large vein in the middle of your body. The device is put in during a short surgery. Veins are the blood vessels that bring oxygen-poor blood and waste products back to the heart.
  • Management of cardiac failure and hypertension:-  Drugs such as beta-blockers, angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors, angiotensin receptor blockers, aldosterone receptor blockers, hydralazine, and nitrates, which have shown mortality benefit in CHF and exert antihypertensive effects, should be used as first-line agents to control HTN in CHF. In addition, antihypertensive drugs such as alpha-receptor blockers that can increase mortality in HF should be avoided.
